Contest Information

Wear We Are Going is an eco-fashion design contest. We asked submitting designers to imagine innovative fashion for the future, with a focus on the themes of beauty, resilience, and adaptation that speak to our shared ecological future.

Applications required full-body looks that can be worn and displayed in motion. Submitted work will initially be judged for the ecology and artistry of the design, the materials used, the design’s functionality/wear-ability, and the design backstory/inspiration.

A selected group of applicants will be asked to build their concept.  These chosen finalists will have a little over one month to build and film their work, and their submissions will be shown during a live broadcast celebration showcase. A winner for the contest will be announced live during this showcase by the judging panel.

The contest winner will receive a prize of $3,000.

Who We Are

Contest Organizers

VenturaVie/V Boutique directly benefits those in need. Our focus is primarily the San Francisco Bay area and global girl’s/women’s rights, especially around issues of sex trafficking and domestic violence. We also offer internships through V Boutique in the Cannery in San Francisco and have ongoing mentorship programs for young people. V Boutique represents fashion, compassion, and community, and VenturaVie unifies fashion, the arts, and nature.

Salt Tree Art creates rich community spaces that unite arts and ecology in unexpected, educational, and inspiring ways.

We explore creative processes that integrate natural and social systems, revitalizing the links between community, ecology, and the arts. We accomplish this through development of environmental artworks, production of public performances and events that showcase environmental art, and community education and advocacy on ecological issues.

Our organization is for everyone, whether your passions support the arts, agriculture, food security, education, environmentalism, or community development. Our programs use the arts to foster interdisciplinary connections and to build innovative approaches to ecological issues.
